Discover the cultural and natural heritage of Tongariro National Park through exciting audio-visual, interactive and informative interpretation. DOC staff provide information about day walks, tramping and the wide range of activities to be enjoyed in the Park. Outdoor clothing, books, phonecards and souvenirs are on sale. Adventure Kayaks

National Park Backpackers - Climbing Hall, Transport & Tours

Mountain Air
Take a scenic flight around the spectacular volcanoes of the Tongariro National Park Dual World Heritage Area. Mt Ruapehu

Whanganui River Jet
Our jet boat operates daily into this beautiful wilderness area of the Whanganui National Park. Our charter service will drop trampers off wishing to tramp the Mangapurua Track back to Whakahoro or the Matemateaonga Track to the west. We also operate sightseeing trips to the Bridge to Nowhere. Alternatively hire one of our kayaks and paddle into the Whanganui National Park to be picked up at the end of the day by jet boat.

National Park Hotel Email:
A real icon of an original Kiwi pub. Built in 1913 it retains all the charm and ambience of bygone days and is the village "local". A must for any traveller who wants to sample true New Zealand hospitality. There are few pubs of this character left in the North Island.
